Towards Decolonizing Wealth
Commissioned by Arising Quo, 2024
The first phase developed a theoretical and systemic foundation for understanding wealth through a decolonial lens. Drawing on research and sustained dialogue with wealth holders, Indigenous leaders, and academics across Brazil, Canada, and the US, the work mapped the colonial architecture of European wealth accumulation, from the historical logics of extraction and dispossession to the psychological and emotional patterns that keep those logics invisible and intact.

Unsettling Wealth

Seven applied pedagogical pieces were developed to accompany wealth stewards in real processes of reflection and decision-making, addressing the psychology of inheritance, the logics of insulation, the inner capacities needed for genuine transformation, and decision-making under complexity.

Wealth stewarding grounded in accountability and complexity
2026 - 2027
Phase 3 is a two-year action research that combines direct accompaniment of wealth stewards navigating real decisions with broader field observation and documentation. Learning journeys will bring wealth holders into relational encounter with territories, communities, and grassroots projects navigating the consequences of wealth decisions firsthand. Somatic and embodied practices will support the kind of interior work that written tools alone cannot reach. An article and a pilot podcast will extend the findings into a wider public conversation.
